#95: Returning to the Scene of the Crime

February 9, 2011

Interesting topics this week. . .one casino recovers most of the 1.5 million dollars stolen from it. Another is saved from public foreclosure in the nick of time. And more than half of all homes sold in Las Vegas were paid for in cash. In this episode of the Living in Las Vegas Podcast, Las Vegas locals Scott and Melissa wonder about the mental stability of a casino thief who returns to the scene of the crime (A LOT) and talk about money and casinos. 70: One is Good, One is Bad: Las Vegas Hiking, Las Vegas Real Estate Agents

August 29, 2009

[Let’s set the mood. . .it’s a Saturday night. . .the studio lights have been dimmed. . .the red wine is ready and willing. . .what better time to record a Living in Las Vegas Podcast?]

Professionalism?  Las Vegas Real Estate “Professionals” calling.  We’re a little lost, here.  Can you send somebody over?

Okay, this wasn’t meant to be the main topic. . .and it’s not. . .but, for the love of all things reasonable, get it together Las Vegas real estate folks!  You’re making those of us who live here look bad!

On a positive note, after ranting about the nasty issues of real estate, this edition of the Living in Las Vegas Podcast talks about three places to hike, two of which I deemed “hiked” even though my definition of hiked and Melissa’s were not completely in line.  Show notes:

65: Living the Loft Lifestyle in Las Vegas

February 15, 2009

What a fun show to record!  Thanks everybody who joined the live video streaming session!!

With the real estate environment in Las Vegas struggling, we wondered what was available in the loft market.  I’ve always thought there was something inherently groovy about lofts. . .seems like they’d be the place where Las Vegas hipsters might hang out.  So for this episode of the Living in Las Vegas Podcast, we visit three brand-new(ish) Las Vegas lofts available for your living enjoyment.  Show notes:

This episode was recorded as both an audio file (found here) AND a video.  The original video was over 18GB in size so we’re working on creating a more management size file to add to our RSS file.  It will be added as a separate post.)

64: Dining at Wynn Encore, New Year’s Eve with 20-Somethings and Live Video

January 11, 2009

Because we enjoy having guests at the Whitney Villa, one of the great things about Living in Las Vegas is hosting/entertaining visitors when they come to town.  For today’s Living in Las Vegas Podcast, we first take our kids (who are visiting from California) to Wynn Encore for $ome fancy dining. Then, we review our New Year’s Eve party which brought in nine additional 20-somethings to the house and taught me a bit about bouncing back after puking, that some kids can drink faster than I ever could, and that if you play your cards right, you can get a secret XBOX 360 code for unlimited songs in Rock Star.  Show notes: (Now where did I put my NutriTorture snack bar. . .oh, and there is some swearing in this episode)

I’ve enjoyed my time on Twitter and wanted to thank those who’ve decided to “follow” us by creating a series of TwitterGifts. Beginning today and continuing for many days to come, I will be placing an MP3 file from one of the songs available on my ChristmAcoustic or ChristmAcoustic II CD online as a free gift from Melissa and myself. I’ve sold over 40,000 copies of these CDs (200 today!) and wanted to share this music with those of you who’ve made our initial entry into the Twitter world so much fun.

To get your free ChristmAcoustic/ChristmAcoustic II MP3 file(s), follow us at twitter.com/LiLVPodcast. The first one will be posted in an hour or so.

Happy Holidays!

Thought we’d give this Twitter thing a spin around the block and see what’s what.  We’ve added a little bit of web code to our home page to display our last three “tweets” (geez, how do adults say that without feeling like a goofball).  For those more TwitterHip listeners to the Living in Las Vegas Podcast, follow us by visiting our Twitter Feed.
